Hey everyone! I’m moving onto a different Tumblr. BUT WAIT! That doesn’t mean that JaxFlix is over! I will just be making segments of it on my new Tumblr. I would love for you all to follow me on my new one. It has a ton of more exciting things going on and a new project that I’ll be working on. There will be YouTube post on there too about the project.

Fire With Fire (Movie Review)

How many of you would be interested in a giant comic strip? Because I’m currently in the process of painting one. If anyone at all is interested I would love to make another Tumblr blog to show the progress of it and even get more inspiration for it. I started on this project last week and it has been coming out amazing so far. I won’t tell the story line. But I will say that our hero is a girl with a laser gun. And doesn’t that kick ass regardless? So please let me know what you think. I would be posting pictures of it until it is finished. I have no idea what I plan on doing with it. All I know is that I got an inspiration for it and had to make it come to life.

So please answer below. Should I make a Tumblr on my progress of my giant comic?

Mad Men (Show Review)

It’s the 1960’s in New York. Ad men, drinks, and cigarettes are whats hot and boy does it make loads of cash. Mr. Don Draper is at the top of Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency. While his family life is crumbling, his business is doing more than exceptional with his trusty employees. They are trying everything to keep their business on the top and it isn’t the easiest thing to do with so much changing in the world. This show follows the 60’s as if it were the 60’s now. They make no mistakes and the sexism and racism aspects are no exception. They aren’t sparing any feelings. If it happened in the 60’s then it will happen in this show.

I can’t help but give this show five stars. It’s been awhile since I’ve watched such an original television show. It got me hooked in the first episode. The part that actually got me hooked? “Who is this moron flying around space? I mean, he pees in his pants!” Space travel obviously wasn’t very popular then. After awhile I couldn’t help but keep watching. This show will make you feel like you’ve been taken back in time. While I wish there was less cheating involved, every character has a story and connects to one another. There isn’t one person left unnoticed. I highly recommend this show to anyone who doesn’t get offended very easily because let’s just face it….it’s pretty easy to get offended from this show if you were to take it personal.

Why is it taking me so long to get done with all the 24 seasons? I’m in season 4 and sometimes I just feel like I’m forcing myself to watch it. Not hatin’ just sayin’. I actually really like this show. It could just be the time thing.

Fire With Fire (Movie Review)

This movie wouldn’t normally be my “cup of tea.” You all know the movies, boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, their love is forbidden, they run away together, no one ever finds them again. Are you getting that Romeo and Juliet vibe yet? Our “Romeo” is a juvenile delinquent who is placed in a correction center type place who stumbles upon the “Juliet” of the movie who was sent to a christian school for girls by her parents. The two meet in a field where she is doing her photography. After seeing this boy she plans out a school dance where the boys of the correction center would be invited so the two could meet properly. They instantly fall head over heals for each other and plan to meet again. They go back and forth sneaking to see each other until one day they get caught in the cemetery the boy works at. They quickly plan to run away to a cabin in the woods that the boys father owns. Their plan is almost perfect. The boys best friend gets his locker searched and the cops find his copy of the map. But all is not lost. They manage to escape and unlike “Romeo and Juliet” live happily ever after.

I wouldn’t have given this movie three stars if it wasn’t for the two characters chemistry. You can tell that they are very comfortable with each other. I never felt as if they were acting out their affection for each other. The other characters are somewhat awkward and some don’t fit. Even tho the story line is very basic I really liked the twist it had. If you like forbidden love movies then this one is right up your ally. Otherwise I wouldn’t suggest it.

Hey I was reading your posts and i think you should definitely watch When A Killer Calls, Confined, and Baby On Board. All three are pretty good movies. I’ve had netflix for about a year and i watch movies on it alot but i’m pretty sure that i havent even watched a fraction of the amount of movies they have to offer. I’ll root for you to accomplish this journey. You’re very brave :D

Hey! This is me just taking the time to thank everyone so far for your support and ideas. For now I will be posting Movie Reviews every Wednesday and Sunday. If I happen to get tons more followers and suggestions I will add another day. I really hope that I continue to get everyone’s support. I plan on following this up with a Twitter, Facebook page, and YouTube account. (Although I will have to see how many people are even interested first.) I also would love to start a Game Review Tumblr along with a YouTube Let’s Play account. I’ve always been a gamer and think it would be a great way to expand in the future. Again I thank you all! Please tell anyone who you think would be interest about this so I can continue to grow.

Side note: I am in no way, shape, or form associated with Netflix. Nor am I a writer, publisher, or journalist. This is just an idea that I hope to pursue for as long as I can and maybe even make a name for myself somehow through it. I’m just a movie/game lover who wants to share her opinion.

Pay It Forward (Movie Review)

This movie delivered way more than I had anticipated. Our story line? A boy who gets a new teacher with a strange assignment, “Think of an idea for world change, and put it into action.” The boy comes up with an idea to help three people, those three are to help another three, then those another three, and so on, to eventually make a perfect world. Why? Because, “everything is shit,” as he puts it. His idea is not to help others so they can owe him one. It is to help other people so they can pay it forward to help other people. In this boys departure to help people he chooses those who are close to him. Now I wont ruin the ending for you, but I will say that he does succeeded. His plan becomes a world known idea and finds this out from a unknown reporter who was also given the chance to “pay it forward” earlier in the movie.

I can definitely say that this movie is now on the top of my list. It says so much about the world we live in and what people have the potential to do even if we aren’t in the best situation. Every character added something to the table in this movie and made an impact in some way. The pieces of this movie all fit and I didn’t feel like I was ever waiting for the point or moral of the story because they portrayed it the entire time very well. It’s raw and honest. It shows some issues that not all, but most of us have seen in our life time. It doesn’t cut corners. It tells it how it is. If you want to watch an inspiring movie then you have found it. And if you ever have the chance to “pay it forward” I highly recommend that you take it.

I mainly gave this movie three stars for one reason, I liked the idea of the movie. I can’t say that I actually liked the movie as a whole tho. While it had some well known actors in it, you can’t always judge a movie based on the actors. To be honest I was expecting a lot more from this movie. The flash backs were a bit too long and the rest of it was kind of…well…messy. It seemed as if they were drifting away from the main point of the movie. Girls husband dies, girl can’t get over husband, husband plans out sent letters of things for girl to do, girl does these things in hopes to keep memory for guy. All of this is very much in the story. Although it seems as if there are unnecessary things that got mixed in. There are two random guys who in the end…don’t make much of an impact, two friends who it seems like we should know more about but don’t, and a mother who could have been in the movie a little more seeing as how she was the main source of the letters in the end. If the movie was more well put together I think it could have been a really good romantic sob story.
